Siwelele FC have announced the sacking of their head coach, Lehlohonolo Seema, following a dismal start to the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
Seema has failed to register a win in the opening five matches of the league, prompting the Siwelele hierarchy to pull the trigger and show the former Chippa United mentor the exit door.
Seema’s firing comes after a 3-2 league defeat to Kaizer Chiefs at Dobsonville Stadium this past weekend. The defeat against Chiefs saw Seema failing to collect maximum points in all his first five matches of the season. Siwelele have played two draws and suffered three losses in the Premiership.
As it stands, Siwelele are sitting 14th on the log after collecting only two points.
Following the disastrous start to the campaign, Siwelele has announced the departure of Seema and his assistant coach Willem Jackson.
The club further confirmed that Godfrey Moseatsa will take over the coaching role on an interim basis as they aim to turn their season around.

“Following a disappointing start to the 2026/27 season, Siwelele FC has relieved head coach Lehlohonolo Seema and assistant coach Willem Jackson of their first-team duties while the club conducts a review of the senior team’s performance and technical program me,” Siwelele said in a statement on Monday morning.
“Godfrey Mosoetsa will assume responsibility for the first team caretaker coach with immediate effect.
“This has been a challenging period for the club, and our supporters deserve better than what they have seen so far this season. Our belief in this team, in our players and in what we are building at Siwelele remains unchanged.
“This is a moment to stand together, to work harder and to embody the spirit that defines this club: courage, unity and fighting for one another. Our season is still young. We will face the challenge in front of us together, as one team and one family.
“The club will make a further announcement on the coaching approach for the remainder of the season once the review has been concluded. We will not be commenting further while that process is under way.”
