Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe has revealed what is finally “coming to life” at Amakhosi after another Man of the Match performance in the 1-1 draw against Polokwane City. The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder scored Amakhosi’s opener in the 29th minute as they looked set for maximum points, before City restored parity for Polokwane in the 73rd minute.
Despite the result, Maboe said he is satisfied with his individual form. The 31-year-old has now scored twice and provided two assists in six Betway Premiership matches this season, according to Transfermarkt.

Maboe declared that more is to come, with Amakhosi still unbeaten this season, sitting fourth after six matches with three wins and three draws.
“Firstly, I would like to thank the Man Above [God] for the talent that he has given me. It’s been a very long while. This is a milestone for me personally. I’m disappointed in the result today, but we’ll just take the point,” Maboe said on SuperSport TV.
“I said this last time, reflecting back on last season, I knew coming into this season I had to be a lot more involved in the final third – getting goals and making assists. So I’m happy that it’s coming to life now, and I’m looking forward to many more.
“Thank you also to the supporters that came out in numbers. Hard luck that we couldn’t get the three points, but we appreciate them. Looking forward to the next one, putting this behind us.”
Last season, the former Maritzburg United midfielder featured in 19 Betway Premiership matches but failed to score or provide an assist. He is confident he will contribute more goals and assists this season.
