Mamelodi Sundowns ambassador Tiyani Mabunda has offered sound advice to new arrivals Thabang Matuludi and Thabo Cele, insisting the duo will play a crucial role in the club’s push to reclaim the Betway Premiership title.
Sundowns recently announced the signing of Cele following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs. The 29-year-old joined the Chloorkop side as a free agent.
The club also unveiled Bafana Bafana international defender Thabang Matuludi, who joined on a three-year deal.
WHAT ADVICE TIYANI MABUNDA OFFERED TO MASANDAWANA NEW SIGNINGS
Speaking during the Tiyani Mabunda Foundation High School Football League games at PEPPS College in Polokwane on Saturday, the 38-year-old shares some words of wisdom with the two talented players.
”My advice to all the new signings, for Thabo Cele I would say feel free. You are at home, do what you do best,” said Mabunda.
“Don’t listen to anything [from outsiders], put on your boots, get on the field and show everyone who you are and why Mamelodi Sundowns chose you to be part of this great organization. I believe that you’ve got the quality and the capabilities to make sure that you assist the club from where we are to another level and you are the right person to be among us.”
“To Thabang Matuludi as well, feel free, this is home. You have the talent and the quality. Do not feel shy. You can see the quality that also came in. The likes of Antonio Van Wyk who came in and he has already started scoring,” added Mabunda.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS WANT TO RECLAIM THEIR BETWAY PREMIERSHIP TITLE
With the club having reached the MTN8 final where they will face Orlando Pirates, Mabunda says they want to fetch all their trophies, including the Betway Premiership.
“We believe that all the great signings that we have just made are definitely going to be of great help because there is a trophy we are looking for and we know where it is,” he said.
“It escaped last season and we know how to fetch it. We know the address and my boys are there. The MTN8 is also a trophy that we are looking for. It has eluded us for a long time. But this season it looks like it’s coming back home and we are excited because we are going to fetch it where we lost it. We know where our trophies are and we are coming to fetch them.”
