Motsepe Foundation Championship side The Bees have confirmed the departure of head coach Duncan Lechesa with immediate effect.
As FARPost had reported earlier on Wednesday, the Mpumalanga had been pondering the future of Lechesa, who had been on special leave.
It is said Lechesa asked to step aside last week after a winless start to the 2026/27 season. The club had a run of four straight defeats. They currently sit third from bottom with three points from their opening five matches.

The 50-year-old joined The Bees on a one-year contract to take over from Joel Masutha who left at the end of the season.
The former Polokwane City FC coach has joined together with Sundra Govinder who was serving as his assistant. But the latter left earlier this month to join Betway Premiership side Marumo Gallants, where is an assistant coach.
The club announced on Wednesday that Lechesa has officially left the club. He becomes the second coach to be dismissed in the National First Division this season after Clinton Larsen also left Venda FC on Monday.

The club also confirmed that Veli Zitha and Dominic Ramokgopa will be in charge of the club as co-coaches until further notice.
“The Bees FC and coach Duncan Lechesa have mutually agreed to part ways with immediate effect from 23 September 2026,”
“The club thanks coach Lechesa for his services and wishes him well in his future endeavours. Dominic Ramokgopa and Veli Zitha will continue as co-coaches until further notice.”
Zitha was on the bench when The Bees registered their first win of the season against Lerumo Lions on Saturday, 19 September.
