Fresh off his Goal of the Month award, Kaizer Chiefs winger Glody Makabi Lilepo has made it clear he is already looking beyond the accolade, setting his sights on even greater honours.

The Chiefs attacker has been a key figure for Amakhosi since arriving in January 2025, finishing as the clubโ€™s top scorer last season with six goals and one assist.

In the current campaign, the Congolese forward is Chiefsโ€™ joint top scorer across all competitions with Flavio da Silva, with seven goals and an assist.

The former Al Hilal attacker has emphasised his hunger to keep producing โ€œquality goalsโ€ as he pushes for a strong finish to the season. His second-half strike against Durban City FC ended a four-match winless run, securing a 1-0 victory at FNB Stadium on Sunday.

The 28-year-old forward is happy to have won the January/February award ahead of โ€œhigh-quality players who scored beautiful goals.โ€ He was rewarded for his spectacular goal against Marumo Gallants, which secured the victory for Chiefs.

However, he quickly shifted focus to his own standards, insisting his ability demands more spectacular moments.

โ€œI fought to score again, the goal of the month, the goal of the season, because my quality is such that I can score beautiful goals,โ€ he told Kaizer Chiefs media. Lilepo described his recent strike against Durban City as crucial in helping the team navigate a challenging period and secure important points.

Despite the recognition, his message to his teammates and the clubโ€™s supporters remains to stay united. โ€œFootball has good moments and bad moments, but they are all important. Even the best teams go through tough times; what matters is staying together and continuing to work.โ€

Ahead of the Magesi match, Lilepo was cautious but confident that the team can secure maximum points and climb the table. He is eager to see the team finish strongly this season and aims for a return to continental football.

โ€œWe want to finish in a good position and play in the Champions League with CAF,โ€ he said.

Chiefsโ€™ next match is a home game which will be played on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Kick-off is at 18:00.
