Ex-Bloem Celtic coach joins Lesotho
Ex-Bloemfontein Celtic coach Veselin Jelušiċ has been appointed as the new head coach of Lesotho.
The Serbian tactician replaces Thabo Senong, who resigned as the Lesotho coach last year to take over as the assistant coach of DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United.
Jelušiċ was unveiled on Tuesday by the Lesotho Football Association (LFA). “It is my great honour and pleasure to be chosen to be the coach of the Lesotho National team,” he said.
“I would like to give my promise that I will do my best to contribute to the achievements and goals of the Lesotho FA.
Jelusic is an experienced campaigner as he previously coached InterClube in Angola and then the national team. He later moved to Botswana where he was also national team coach and then spent five years developing the country’s youth structures.
“I know the country has limitations in terms of players playing in professional leagues as we get to play against top countries in the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers, but that does not matter, and we will always give our best to make the country proud.”
