Salah is a great guy to coach – Roger De Sa
Egypt assistant coach Roger De Sá has described Mohamed Salah as ‘a lovely and humble guy’ ahead of the Pharaohs’ 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Senegal.
“I think all that is missing in his [Salah] career is World Cup performance and I think that is what he is looking for,” said De Sá.
“He carries a team a lot and I think he needs to drop off that pressure and play a little bit more. We spoke to him about that, he is lovely man and fantastic human being. To work with him day in and day out is incredible.
“Salah is very normal, very humble, a great guy to coach, and he’s always willing to give 120%,” added the Egypt assistant coach.
De Sá, a former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits joined the Egyptian national team back in September, 2021 as an assistant to head coach Carlos Queiroz, who is a former Bafana Bafana mentor.
Alongside Queiroz, De Da led Egypt to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) final, where they lost to Senegal in Cameroon.
Egypt will be looking for revenge and book their ticket to Qatar when they meet the African champions, Senegal.
Queiroz’s troops welcome Senegal to the Cairo International Stadium on March 25 before travelling to the Diamniadio Olympic Stadium, four days later.
