Ofhani Munyai

Ofhani Munyai: The Voice of Limpopo Sports Ofhani Munyai is a highly respected and award-winning sports journalist who currently serves as a Senior Reporter for FARPost. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Munyai has established himself as the definitive authority on sports in the Limpopo province, bridging the gap between regional developments and the national stage. His journey in media began in community radio at Turf FM in 2006, followed by a significant decade-long tenure at Capricorn FM (2009–2019), where he became a household name for sports updates. Currently, in addition to his writing duties at FARPost, he produces and presents the popular sports show Huduba Buse on Phalaphala FM. This dual presence in print and broadcast allows him to reach a vast audience, offering deep insights into the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and clubs like Marumo Gallants, Polokwane City, and Venda Football Academy. Munyai’s excellence has been consistently recognized with prestigious accolades. Most recently, he made headlines by winning the 2025 MTN8 Last Journalist Standing competition, a grueling quiz that tests the football knowledge of the country’s top media professionals. His trophy cabinet also includes the 2023 Sport Journalist of the Year award from the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, and the Premier’s Award for Best Sports Presenter (2005). Beyond reporting, Munyai is a dedicated advocate for media freedom and professional standards. He serves as the SAFJA (South African Football Journalists Association) Provincial Representative for Limpopo, where he champions the rights of journalists and fosters better working relationships between clubs and the media. His resilience and commitment to ethical journalism make him a pillar of the South African sports media fraternity.
