Arteta hits back at Aubameyang

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reacted to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s comments saying the manager was the “problem” during his last days at the Gunners.

Aubameyang recently left the club to join Spanish giants Barcelona on transfer deadline day, after a fall-out with the 39-year-old mentor last December.

The Gabonese international was then stripped of the club’s captaincy and never played for the first team since then.

“I’m extremely grateful for what Aubameyang has done at the club, for his contributions since I got here,” said Arteta.

“The way I see myself in that relationship is the solution, not the problem.

“However, that’s his opinion. We have to respect that.”

Despite all the drama, Arteta insists that his side got enough players who can get the job done.

“Arsenal have enough in the team to get goals without a direct replacement for the forward,” he added.
