Malesela full of praise for King after Nedbank heroics
Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela has applauded goalkeeper King Ndlovu for his bravery during the penalty shoot of their win against Orlando Pirates at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Marumo advanced to the quarterfinals stage of the Nedbank Cup after a 5-4 win in a dramatic shootout.
The two teams were forced to go to sudden death, and King saved Terrence Dzvukamanja’s penalty before Ndlovu made no mistake with his penalty to see Gallants through 5-4.
“The courage shown by the boys was very huge, you know, also appreciate what the goalkeeper did, the bravery to say ‘guys I don’t want you to miss to miss miss anymore, let me score my save. I want to redeem my save’ so it’s good,” said Malesela.
“It’s very good, let’s see the sixteenth. We forget about this one, we focus on the sixteenth, and we will see. Also happy that now we are in the quarterfinals, three to go, let’s see.”
Marumo are the defending Champions after winning the trophy last season while still under the name Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
