Mokotjo opens up about short MLS stint
Kamohelo Mokotjo has opened up about his short stint in Major League Soccer (MLS).
The 31-year-old has finally spoken about his frustrating season at FC Cincinnati saying “it wasn’t a good match” as American football is “still developing”.
Mokotjo played 22 league games for Cincinnati before parting ways with the club in November 2021.
He has since returned to his former club FC Twente where he is hoping to earn a professional contract after returning to full fitness.
“For me, I think it was the timing, the timing of my move and the timing of where I moved to,” he explained in an interview with FC Twente TV.
“Even though I enjoyed the life there, Europe is what I’m familiar with and where I want to be – but there are no regrets, these are the things that help you grow.
“It’s not always going to be nice or smooth and I think my career has been anything, but smooth – I’ve had to fight for my place everywhere I’ve been.”
