Swallows announce new signing

Moroka Swallows have confirmed the acquisition of attacking midfielder, Lindokuhle Mtshali.

Lindokuhle Mtshali has joined Moroka Swallows on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract with the option of a further year.

The 24-year-old was recently released by Golden Arrows alongside Matome Mathiane, Maximillian Mbaeva, Siyabonga Dube, Siboniso Conco and Michael Gumede.

He also represented teams such as Real Kings, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.

He managed to play 63 games across all competitions for Abafana Bes’thende, scoring three goals and contributing six assists.

“The Butcher Birds would like to welcome Lindokuhle Mtshali to the nest,” read Maswaiswai’s tweet.

This is Moroka Swallows’ second signing after securing the services of Mamelodi Sundowns graduate Keegan Allan, who was previously in the books of the University of Pretoria. The defender was crowned the 2022 Nedbank Cup Young Player of the Season.

Moroka Swallows Eye Redemption in 2022/23 PSL Season

After a disastrous 2021/22 season that saw them narrowly avoid relegation, Moroka Swallows will be looking to come back stronger in the 2022/23 PSL campaign. The Birds will be hoping to avoid another relegation battle and return to the top half of the table.

Now, it’s time for them to prove that early-season form is of paramount importance, and collect maximum points in their first meetings.

Meanwhile, FARPost reports that major changes are likely to happen at Moroka Swallows, with Dylan Kerr’s return to the club looking increasingly unlikely.

Dylan Kerr was assured of keeping his job at Moroka Swallows after saving them from relegation in the ABC Motsepe League playoffs. However, his job is now on thin ice as the club considers major changes.
