Door still open for Hlompho Kekana at Baroka
Baroka Chairman Khurishi Mphahlele insists the club has not given up on the signature of veteran midfielder Hlompho Kekana.
Kekana has been a free agent since his departure at Mamelodi Sundowns in November last year.
The 36-year-old has been linked with a few clubs including AmaZulu, Royal AM, Cape Town City and Bakgaga.
Mphahlele told FARPost earlier this week that he has held talks with Kekana and the club will welcome him if he does eventually arrive.
“Hlompho Kekana is a child of this municipality (Lepelle-Nkumpi, Limpopo) and we wish to have him. I spoke to him and I am still waiting for him to come back to me,” revealed Mphahlele.
“He has not come back to me and we can’t force somebody to come here. If he doesn’t want it’s okay, if he comes we will still welcome him.
“I am not giving up because as far as I know, he hasn’t signed with anybody so that means he is still available and he can still come. This place will always be available (for him),” he said.
