Brandon Truter explains what PSL players are lacking

Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter has explained in detail, the aspects of the game that players in SA’s topflight, DStv Premiership, are lacking.

He believes there is a need for PSL players to do self-analysis in terms of career ambitions.

Truter insists this is what he wants to work on with his players during the current FIFA International break.

Babina Noko boasts some of the big names players in South African football who have achieved success at their previous clubs.

But despite that, the club has found it challenging to be amongst the top teams this season.

While addressing his plans for the current break, the former AmaZulu mentor says his target is to work on the mental aspect.

He further adds that Mamelodi Sundowns are dominating because they are the only club dealing with the mental aspect.

PSL PLAYERS LACK SELF-ANALYSIS

“Technically and tactically I have a very good squad, but mentally what you want out of the game or what you want out of the season or what you want after football. I don’t think the players ask these questions enough” he told the media.

“I also think self-analysis for players in South Africa, not just Sekhukhune United, they don’t do it enough.

“I think [Mamelodi] Sundowns are the only ones [who do it] and it sets them apart at the moment. So that’s definitely some aspect that I want to work on.

LACK OF CONSISTENCY WORRIES BRANDON TRUTER

“A key area for me is the mentality. I have a squad of talented, matured and experienced players who have won things.

“But right now we are not consistent enough for me, the performances as well are not consistent enough.

“I feel there are certain moments where we lack confidence. I think there are certain moments where we lack understanding or the hunger to win games.”
