Rulani Mokwena makes odd statement about 71-point record
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has made a strange statement about the 71-point record that they might break if they win all remaining games.
If they win all their last four games in the DStv Premiership, Downs will set a new record for the most points amassed by a club in a season.
Bafana Ba Style were held by Golden Arrows to a 1-1 draw at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday.
This was their third draw on the trot after playing stalemates with Swallows and Cape Town City.
Mokwena has insisted that going beyond 71 points isn’t their focal point. This record was set by the Brazilians in 2015/16 under Pitso Mosimane’s guidance.

“The good thing we’re not chasing that, that’s good, so it doesn’t suffocate us,” he said.
“So, we keep going and trying to win the next match.”
Having failed to win in the previous three games, Mokwena admitted he didn’t know where the issue was.
However, he stated they would be heading back home to find solutions on how they would turn their fortunes around.
‘I’M PAID TO FIND THE SOLUTIONS’
“Really I wish I knew because we don’t play for wins but I’m paid to find solutions,” he added.
“I have to find the solutions as to how we can turn around.
“We have to win and of course on Saturday we have to win [against Stellenbosch].”
Masandawana are next on action against Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal on Saturday, 15 April at 18:00.
Their match will take place at the Stellies’ backyard Danie Craven Stadium.
Mokwena still has a chance to lead his side to a treble. Having won the league, they still have Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League to compete for.
