FARPost Cup top player lands new deal
The FARPost Cup Player of the Tournament, Sekgobela Masilo will be playing football in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the coming season.
The talented winger was a standout performer in the inaugural competition hosted last month at the Mchana Sports Grounds in Indemark under the Blouberg Municipality, despite his team [Blouberg] losing the final to Polokwane FA 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw.
Through his dazzling displays and performances on the pitch, he caught the attention of DStv Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship scouts and coaches who were in attendance like Esrom Nyandoro of Mamelodi Sundowns, Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha, Mpho Maleka of Marumo Gallants and Matsimela Thokha of Baroka.
News reaching FARPost is that Baroka have offered the 20-year-old a professional contract. Masilo has been training with the Vincent Kobola-coached team for the past three weeks.
Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele confirmed that they had been impressed by the player. He said the coach was keen on giving him a chance.
“He’s the left footed player. The coach loves the boy and we’re happy. He will definitely be given a chance,” Mphahlele told FARPost.
