Azam sign ex-Kaizer Chiefs target Feisal Salum
Ambitious Tanzanian side Azam has snapped ex-Kaizer Chiefs target Feisal Salum in what could be of the biggest transfer coup this year in the East African nation.
Salum almost signed for the Soweto giants early this year, but they snubbed him at the eleventh hour as they opted for Yusuf Maart.
The exciting midfielder, Salum terminated his contract with Young African Sports Club on 22 December before agreeing to sign a three-year contract with the Ice-cream makers, Azam.
Impeccable sources close to FARPost revealed that he was offered an irrestible R2.5 million signing on fee by Azam plus a house and a car.
CONTRACT DETAILS REVEALED
The source also revealed he will get a monthly salary of R150 000, which is a massive upgrade from the R30 000 which he was getting from Young Africans.
In a letter obtained by FARPost, Salum revealed his decision to amicably part ways with Yanga.
“As aforementioned above I am Feisal Salum, a Young Africans Sports club player.
“I am currently holding the contract between me and the club dated 10 August 2020 for a specified period and the same shall expire on 30th May 2024,” reads the letter.
He executed the right to terminate his contract early as enshrined in clause 14.7 of the contract.
The clause dictates that he refunds the signing on fee and at least three months salary for early termination.
“I am executing my right as enshrined under clause 14.7 which entails that the player has the right to terminate the contract extra-ordinary, provided that the player shall refund the signing on fee paid and pay at least three [3] months salaries for early termination.
“This is the official letter informing your club that I am terminating my contract as directed above by clause 14.7.
“The refund of the signing fee and three [3] months salaries as agreed in the contract already paid.”
