English side dismisses Cristiano Ronaldo link

An English side has dismissed various media reports linking serial winner, Cristiano Ronaldo with the club.

Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United by mutual consent on Tuesday following a fall out with the club’s hierarchy.

The Portuguese star, Ronaldo, boldly accused the Man United management of betrayal.

He believes they tried to force him out of the club at the start of the 2022/23 English Premier League season.

In a controversial interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, Ronaldo also said he doesn’t respect Man United head coach Erik ten Hag.

The former Real Madrid attacker claims the coach didn’t show him respect.

“I don’t have respect for him[Erik ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said.

“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you,” he added.

Ronaldo is currently at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Portugal and he’ll be looking to lead his country to their first global showpiece triumph.

After the news that Ronaldo will not take any further part at Old Trafford broke, various reports linked the attacker with potential moves.

Ashton United, competing in the seventh tier of English football is many of the clubs that Ronaldo has been linked with. But the club has come out to clear the air.

ASHTON STATEMENT ON RONALDO

“Despite reports on social media, Ashton United can confirm that no approach[to sign Ronaldo] has been made,” the club in an official statement on Twitter.

“No approach will be made for Cristiano Ronaldo following his release from Manchester United.

“The club will be making no further comments,”

Ronaldo rejoined The Red Devils for his second stint from Juventus at the start of 2021/22 campaign and the move was not as fruitful as many had anticipated.

In the current EPL campaign, Ronaldo has managed only ten appearances in United colours and scored one goal.
