Former Chippa coach Mark Harrison celebrates birthday in style
Former Chippa United coach Mark Harrison celebrated his 62nd birthday in style in Malawi on Sunday.
Mark Harrison guided Malawi giants, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, to the Airtel To8 final.
The ex-Golden Arrows coach Mark Harrison earned Wanderers a place in the final following a 2-0 win over Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
EX-ORLANDO PIRATES STRIKER ON TARGET FOR WANDERERS
Former Orlando Pirates striker Chiukepo Msowoya and Yamikani Chester scored for Wanderers.
Wanderers, as the Nomads are called, now date their sworn rivals Nyasa Big Bullets in the final on December 17 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Bullets eliminated Silver Strikers 3-1 on Saturday to set up the final meeting with the sworn rivals Wanderers.
Sunday’s win mean that Harrison has now gone four games undefeated and without conceding since becoming Wanderers head coach.
The Englishman first joined Wanderers as technical director.
However, the dynamics of Harrison’s appointment changed when he was made head coach after the redeployment of Alex Ngwira.
WANDERERS REMAIN UNBEATEN SINCE MARK HARRISON TOOK OVER
Harrison has since seized the opportunity going four games unbeaten in all competitions.
Wanderers have scored six goals and are yet to concede since Harrison took over.
It remains to be seen if Harrison can lead Wanderers to silverware on December 17 2022.
The ex-Township Rollers gaffer will be up against a Bullets side that wants to make it a clean sweep of silverware this season.
Harrison has since told Wanderers family that it would take some two years to reach the level of professionalism of Bullets.
Bullets, under former Zimbabwe coach Kalisto Pasuwa, have already won the FDH Cup and the TNM Super League.
The former Dynamos mentor Pasuwa wrapped up the title to make it four on the bounce.
Now next on the table for Bullets is the Airtel Top 8 to wrap up the year with a clean sweep.
The Airtel Top 8 involves teams that finishes in the top eight league band by the end of the first round.
