Veteran football administrator Sinky Mnisi has, for the first time, personally addressed the reports that he had a fall-out with Marumo Gallants over money, which was due for a Sangoma.
Mnisi spent a few months at the Motsepe Foundation Championship club before his surprise departure. Before he was appointed CEO, Mnisi also spent some time at Royal AM.
When Mnisi left the club, they were in 10th position. Gallants are now bottom of the log with only six matches remaining.
It was recently reported by Sunday World that Mnisi was paid R1 million by Gallants to pay a Sangoma so that the team could bounce back to the DStv Premiership. Gallants are reportedly demanding their money back from Mnisi, who has since left the club.

While the matter is still in court, Mnisi has refuted the claims. “I will, in due course, reveal everything about what happened between me and the team,” he told FARPost.
“Normally, I do not hang people’s dirty linen, hence my silence. But for the fact that it is now in the public domain and they have said what they have said, it will be for me to respond.
“There is absolutely no truth in the issue of a Sangoma. People that I have worked with will tell you that I do not operate like that,” explained Mnisi.
“I have achieved a lot of success in football with different teams. I do not think it is for me to say it, but this is there for everyone to see. Any team that I have joined has always performed well. I always say let the people be the judges as action speaks louder than words.”

Mnisi says he is not surprised that the club finds itself in danger of relegation. However, he also believed they still had a chance to survive.
“To be honest enough, without being biased, I am not surprised by their position at the moment. As I said, in football, there is no substitution for experience both administratively, technically, as well as in your playing personnel.”
“However, they can still survive considering that they still have to play one another at the bottom there, which games will be six-pointers. Only the strong will survive, and we can only wish them the best.”
