LYLE FORSTER REACTS TO SCORING FIRST GOAL FOR BURNLEY

In a post-match, Foster was asked what he remembered about the goal he scored on the day. With a joyful face, he said, โ€œThe celebration, to be fair!”ย

โ€œI just remember coming on. I had a chance earlier on and shot. It just went a bit wide, and I was kind of thinking to myself, when would the first one come?ย

โ€œI saw Anass [Zaroury] play the ball over to Oba [Michael Obafemi], and it dropped nicely, and I just thought Iโ€™d meet it as hard as I could, and luckily for me, it went in the back of the net.ย

โ€œSo, yes, Iโ€™m very happy to get the first goal, but this is just the start, and I need to work hard to continue pushing for more.

โ€œI felt pure joy, finally happy that it went in, happy to celebrate with the crowd at Turf Moor and feel the love and joy from my teammates, so perfect, perfect day for me.โ€

โ€œThe rest of my family and friends back home were watching the game as well, so yeah, a good day for me, a really good day.โ€

MESSAGE TO FANS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Sending a message to his home country, South Africa, Foster said he can feel the support and love from the rainbow nation. Certainly, he believes that heโ€™s in a position where he can inspire them yet more.

โ€œI feel the love and the support from people back home, and for me, itโ€™s an honour and a blessing.

“I think every day that Iโ€™m in this position, and I can go forward and inspire so many people back home and get the love that I do. Itโ€™s really just an honour playing here and getting to showcase my talent in, for me, the biggest country in the world football-wise,โ€ he added.
