Why Romain Folz tips Ranga Chivaviro to bounce back at Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs’ striker Ranga Chivaviro’s former coach, Romain Folz, has stated why he believes the 31-year-old marksman has what it takes to rise to the challenge at Amakhosi.

Chivaviro arrived with high expectations after a prolific season with Marumo Gallants. He scored 17 goals in 30 matches in all competitions for Gallants.

However, after 11 starts and nine substitute appearances for Chiefs, he has scored four goals and provided one assist.

Folz, the man who gave Chivaviro his breakthrough at Gallants, believes the forward has the tools and character to bounce back at Chiefs. The Frenchman reveals how the hard-working striker earned his place through sheer determination at Gallants.

“When I first arrived, Ranga was not at Gallants. I submitted his profile, and I decided to give him time to train with us in order to evaluate him. He stayed with us for two weeks during pre-season, and worked very hard to earn himself a spot within the squad,” Folz told FARPost.

The coach was impressed by Chivaviro’s unique skill set and positive attitude. “He has very specific skills that can make it very difficult for defenders to defend against him,” Folz explained. “With confidence and the correct approach, I have no doubt he can be very useful and score many goals.”

Folz credits his Gallants staff with restoring Chivaviro’s confidence and helping him flourish. “We gave him an opportunity, built his confidence back, and gave him the tools to be effective and efficient.

“Under me, he was growing progressively, and starting to show interesting things in official games, the process was ongoing with him. I am happy that he continued his progress even after I left the club. He did a very good season.”

HOW KAIZER CHIEFS CAN GET THE BEST OUT OF RANGA CHIVAVIRO

Despite his difficult past, with limited success at previous clubs like Baroka FC, Venda FC and even a short stint in Kosovo, Folz believes Chivaviro’s professional attitude will be key to his success.

“It’s a matter of keeping that spirit high, giving him the tools, and making the player understand that his efforts will pay off. With me, Ranga was very professional and committed, so he has what it takes to bounce back, and I wish him just that.”

Folz’s words offer a unique insider perspective on Chivaviro’s journey. His belief in the striker’s determination and potential will undoubtedly be a source of optimism for Chiefs fans eager to see their striker make an impact.

Ranga showed flashes of his past brilliance as he showed glimpses of his brilliance as he netted a brace in Amakhosi’s 2-2 draw against TS Galaxy in a DStv Premiership tie on Tuesday night in Polokwane. He walked away with the Man of the Match award for his efforts.
