Ex-Chiefs midfielder has no plans to retire

A former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has insisted that he’s not yet ready to call it quits on his 14-year-long playing career.

The experienced midfielder believes he can continue playing for another four seasons as he feels he still has a lot to offer.

Having represented teams such as Platinum Stars, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu FC, Chippa United, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM] and Marumo Gallants in his professional football career, he hopes to continue showcasing his talent.

The player in question is none other than Joseph Molangoane, who’s currently in the books of SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Sunrise FC.

The 36-year-old footballer continues to play for the amateur side week in and week out, showing no signs of slowing down.

‘I STILL HAVE MANY YEARS IN PLAYING’: EX-CHIEFS ATTACKER

During an interview with FARPost, Molangoane was asked if he plans to retire soon. He replied: “I still have many years of playing left, my brother. With my age and body structure, I am confident that I can continue playing for many more years.”

“To be honest with you, not like I’m disrespecting anyone, or I’m just saying, but I think I can still play four more seasons.”

Molangoane further expressed his love for coaching and insisted that he would like to consider it when he decides to retire.

“I love challenges. I’m one person who never thought that I’d be in the middle of the guys and co-coaching and stuff. But now, here I am coaching. I love the fact that experience makes a difference and has an impact on these youngsters,” he told this publication.

“I have started to love this little thing that I’m doing, which is coaching. I’m getting used to it bit by bit. So, I give myself a lot of time to learn, and I think it’s something I can consider moving forward.”
