TS Galaxy challenge Rulani Mokwena to prove his allegations against Ramovic

TS Galaxy have challenged Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Rulani Mokwena to prove his allegations that coach Sead Ramovic instigated Bongani Zungu‘s injury.

This comes after Mokwena questioned the tackle on his midfielder Zungu, citing the Rockets coach, Ramovic, showed his players the leg-breaking tackle Zungu did on Bernard Parker in October last year.

Zungu had to be replaced a few minutes after he was introduced in the second half due to a dangerous tackle by Orebotse Mongae in the 85th minute of the showdown. Mongae was given a straight red card for the challenge.

WHAT RULANI MOKWENA SAID ABOUT BONGANI ZUNGU’S TACKLE

In a post-match interview, the 37-year-old Sundowns coach alleged that the tackle was planned before the game, citing that Ramovic told his players – “don’t forget what Bongani Zungu did.”

“I’m disappointed with the tackle on Bongani Zungu, very disappointed. I was told last night that the coach of the opposition showed that tackle that Bongani Zungu did on Bernard Parker. He said ‘Don’t forget what Bongani Zungu did’,” said Mokwena after the match.

The Mpumalanga-based outfit has since come forward to challenge Mokwena to prove his allegations within 24 hours.

The club went on to state that if Mokwena fails to prove his allegations, the side and its coach “will assert their rights in law.”

TS GALAXY’S OFFICIAL STATEMENT

“TS Galaxy FC takes serious exception to the comments made by Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokoena, insinuating that our Head Coach instigated the injury suffered by Sundowns player Bongani Zungu during our match last night,” reads the statement.

“Mokoena lied blatantly through his teeth which we deem to be a serious embarrassment to our game never mind the club that he represents. If Mokoena still believes in his own lies, we are now calling him out publicly to prove his claim within 24 hours, failing which our club and our coach will assert their rights in law!”

The last night’s game ended with a 3-0 scoreline in favour of Bafana Ba Style, thanks to Peter Shalulile’s brace and a goal from Thembinkosi Lorch.

As a result, Sundowns are three points away from being crowned the DStv Premiership champions. Masandawana are currently cruising nicely on the summit of the log standings with 59 points from 23 outings.
