ABC Motsepe League duo’s first words after joining Cape Town City 

ABC Motsepe League duo of Jody Ah Shene and Jordan Allies have spoken for the first time after signing contracts with DStv Premiership side Cape Town City. 

The pair joins the Citizens from Western Cape third-tier club, Ubuntu. 

Ah Shene, turned 18 this week and is described as a dangerous winger with quick acceleration and a great eye for goal. 

Whereas Allies is characterised as an athletic defender [centre-back] with a wide range of passing, speed and high football intelligence. 

“We are excited to see them continue their development with Cape Town City,” said Ubuntu in a statement. 

“We wish them all the best in this next stage of their development.

“And we trust that the values instilled in them over the past 8/9 years, will help them continue to grow and develop as players and as young men.”

Meanwhile, the two players expressed their gratitude to their previous team.

And revealed the core values that they have acquired at Ubuntu to be where they are today.

“What I have learnt as a person is that people always remember your character and the person you are to people,” said Ah Shene. 

“How you care for people, despite your abilities on the pitch.”

WHAT JORDAN ALLIES HAS LEARNT DURING HIS STAY AT UBUNTU 

“The core values that they [Ubuntu] bring are very important,” explained Allies.

It gives you a base of who you want to become and the person you want to be in the future.

“By following those values, it enables you to be a great leader.

“And someone that will take hold and be responsible for everything. 

“The core values all played a big role in the person I am today.”
