Angola edge Bafana in first leg of CHAN qualifiers

Angola secured a 2-0 win over Bafana Bafana in the second round, first leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier clash at the Estadio de 11 Novembro Stadium on Sunday evening.

Goals from Daniel Kilola and Jaredi Teixeira in either half of the match sealed the vital victory for the Angolan side.

The hosts looked bright coming out of their convincing 3-0 win against Mauritius over two legs on aggregate in the first round of the qualifiers.

However, the visitors created a number of clear-cut chances but failed to convert their scoring opportunities in the final third.

Coach Helman Mkhalele

There was plenty of spice on and off the pitch, while both managers were animated on the touchline as the showdown reached its fever pitch.

It is now down to Helman Mkhalele‘s charges to do whatever it takes to overcome the 2-0 deficit in the second leg.

The return leg will take place on Saturday, 4 September at Orlando Stadium.

The kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 in the afternoon.
