Brandon Truter aiming to inflict pain on Kaizer Chiefs
Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter is aiming to inflict pain on Kaizer Chiefs when the two sides meet in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.
Chiefs claimed an emphatic 2-0 victory against Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium on New Year’s Eve to end 2022 on a high.
Despite winning 3-2 in the gruelling Limpopo derby against Marumo Gallants on Wednesday, Truter is well aware of the Chiefs’ attacking threat that can hurt Sekhukhune.
“First and foremost, we need to bring the freshness back,” Truter told Sekhukhune media.
PLAYING KAIZER CHIEFS IS MOTIVATION ITSELF
“Because we played midweek and they [Chiefs] didn’t, but the guys are in a good space, the mentality is good.
“The atmosphere is good as well, and playing against Chiefs, it’s motivation itself. So, hopefully, that will carry us through.
“There are guys who put on a very good performance against Marumo Gallants. It will be a team that looks to play attacking and attractive football against Chiefs.
“Yes, this is an away game, and it’s their game. But we gonna go out there and look to give a good showing and give a good account of ourselves as well.
“I’m happy with where we are, but there are things that we can improve on. And we are looking to go forward all the time. In terms of our games, in terms of how to manage points.
“I’m hoping for a good attacking performance this weekend,” added the former Swallows mentor.
DIFFICULT START
Babina Noko have had a turbulent start to the 2022/23 campaign, which saw them sack Kaitano Tembo, who was at the helm when the season started.
Sekhukhune have won three games, and drawn six while suffering five defeats. They are currently positioned 12th on the league table after 14 games played thus far.
The Limpopo-based side will visit Amakhosi at FNB Stadium on Saturday as both sides look to make it two wins in a row. Kickoff is at 20:00.
