Cameroon secure South Korea, Uzbekistan friendlies
Cameroon will be away in the Far East next month to play two pre-FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 friendlies in South Korea.
FECAFOOT Secretary-General Blaise Djounang said in a statement that The Indomitable Lions have secured friendly dates against Uzbekistan and hosts South Korea.
Cameroon will kick off their itinerary against Uzbekistan on September 23 in the northern South Korean town of Goyang.
They will then travel back to Seoul to play South Korea on September 27 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
“FECAFOOT intends to do everything possible to ensure that the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are optimally prepared for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” Djounang said.
Cameroon is in Group G and drawn against Switzerland, Serbia and five-time World champions Brazil.
The Indomitable Lions will kick off their Group G campaign on November 24 against Switzerland.
Africa’s most successful FIFA World Cup campaigners are heading for a continental record 8th appearance but have made it out of the group stage just once in 1990.
