Chiefs striker secures move to Casric Stars

National First Division [NFD] side Casric Stars on Sunday afternoon announced the signing of Keletso Sifama on a loan transfer from Kaizer Chiefs.

The youngster also spent last season out on loan in the Motsepe Foundation Championship at Pretoria Callies.

And since Sifama was first promoted to the Kaizer Chiefs’ first team in the 2019/20 season, the 19-year-old has had a couple of spells on loan to get more game time.

At the Soweto giants, he has made only five appearances in all competitions.

SIFAMA’S PREVIOUS LOAN SPELLS

His first loan move was at Maritzburg United in the 2020/21 season, where he joined his former Amakhosi mentor Ernst Middendorp, who promoted him to the first team at Chiefs and gave him his DStv Premiership debut.

However, his six months loan stint did not go well, as the youngster did not feature much for Maritzburg’s first team [five games]; featuring several times in the Diski Challenge.

Coming back to Kaizer Chiefs after a short spell in KZN, the SA junior international was sent out on another loan spell to Callies.

Even though the loan spell was short at Callies, Sifama had a few appearances, accompanied by a couple of goals for the Pretoria side.

However, in January of the 2021/22 season, Sifama went back to Chiefs, were he re-joined Chiefs’ Diski Challenge side.

In the current season, Sifama has not made any appearances for either Chiefs’ first team or the DDC team.

Hence, the move to the Championship newcomers, Casric Stars, comes as no surprise, as the youngster has been hungry for minutes in the first half of the season.

CASRIC STAR POSITON IN THE FIRST DIVISION

Casric Stars are in their maiden season in the first division after buying the status of Free State Stars just before the campaign started.

Half-way through the season, the newcomers have impressed, as they sit at the top of the log standings after 17 games.

Casric Stars are two points ahead of second-placed Polokwane City.

Sifama is one of two players the club has brought in to bolster their squad in the mid-season transfer window.

They also signed the former Varsity Football star, Ngoanamello Rammela.
