Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has been named in Denmark’s preliminary squad for the Fifa World Cup in Qatar.
Following Eriksen’s cardiac arrest at the Euros, the former Tottenham man had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) device fitted.

In January, he said it was a goal, a dream to play for his country again in front of their home crowd at Parken Stadium and at this year’s World Cup.
Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand has kept faith with the players who delivered the recent successful World Cup qualifying and Nations League campaigns. He named 21 of the 26-man squad that will travel to the World Cup finals in Qatar on Monday.
The remaining five players will be revealed following the last round of European fixtures. That is before the tournament and the final list must be delivered to FIFA by Monday 13 November.
“There are ten or 12 players still in contention for the last five spots,” Hjulmand said,
“Many things can happen. “It’s unsolvable, but it’s the right way to do it. There are two games left for many of our players, and that can easily change things.”
The World Cup is set to get underway on 20 November.

The Danes will take on Tunisia, France and Australia at their sixth World Cup finals.
They achieved their best result at the 1998 tournament in France when they reached the quarterfinals.
