Clinton Larsen arrives in Polokwane to begin Magesi tenure

Incoming Magesi FC coach Clinton Larsen watched from the stands as his side beat All Stars 1-0 at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

As FARPost reported, Larsen is set to be unveiled as the club’s new mentor after parting ways with KZN ABC Motsepe League side Summerfield Dynamos.

The club will officially announce his appointment during a media briefing scheduled for Wednesday.

The 51-year-old is set to take over from current coach Jacky Ledwaba. Ledwaba looks likely to be retained as an assistant in the revamped technical team.

This publication spotted Larsen sitting amongst the club directors as Magesi registered their third win of the season.

LEDWABA EXCITED BY CLINTON LARSEN ARRIVAL

“When somebody like Clinton Larsen is around. Everyone will be happy to see him,” said coach Jack Ledwaba after the match.

“It’s motivation on its own just to see him. But the rest of the details will come after.

“I’m more than excited (to have Larsen around), but everything will be addressed during the press conference,” he said.

ON THE TEAM’S PERFORMANCE THIS SEASON

“It was not bad, I would say this time everything is in control. If you check we have collected 16 points so I would say we are halfway from surviving relegation.

“The last time we were not consistent because a lot of boys were adjusting to this league. But now they have broken the ice and know what we expect from them.”
