Newly appointed AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz, known for leaving clubs before his contract ends, has vowed to finish the project at Usuthu.
Folz was roped in as the new AmaZulu coach after Brandon Truter resigned due to personal reasons .
However, at the time of Truter’s resignation, Usuthu endured a poor run of form following a good start to the new DStv Premiership season.
The 32-old Folz sat on the bench for first time against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Friday night
Folz managed collect his first point in charge of Usuthu as his men played out to an entertaining 1-all draw.
The French mentor recently left his coaching role at Marumo Gallants and accused the club’s management for maladministration.
WHAT FOLZ SAID
“Over my experiences as a head coach in Ghana and Botswana, I’ve never been sacked,” Folz told the media.
“You know with Gallants what happened, you know that I decided to leave.
“I’m someone who believes that I can lead the project if I’m given the trust, if you give me the trust I’ll put up the work.
“I believe my work speaks for itself, everyone who knows me will tell.
“I’m not saying I’m closed for advice; if you come, we can always discuss.
“If you let me work and implement what I want, I’ll take you from point A to point B where you want to be.
“So I’m finishing this project; I see it as a chance because my career has fast-tracked over the few years.
“When it comes to AmaZulu, the board has given me the trust.
“I feel the support of the chairman, I’m very close with him.
“I share the same visions and ambitions he has for the club,” added the coach.
The KZN-based side was touted to be one of the best performers this season given the marquee signings they made in the off-season.
But they have so far failed to live up to expectations.
In 10 league games, AmaZulu won three and drew three while losing in four games.
