Copperbelt, Tuks secure Super League promotion
Copperbelt Ladies of Limpopo and Tuks Ladies from Gauteng have gained promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League.
This comes after both sides finished as the top two finalists in the 2022 Sasol League National Championships.
Copperbelt and Tuks will lock horns in the finals after the two won their semifinal games on Friday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Copperbelt defeated North West’s NWU Tawana 2-1 in the first semifinal of the day.
Meanwhile, Tuks got the better of Lindelani Ladies of KwaZulu-Natal 4-2 on penalties in the other semi-final of the day. The game ended 1-1 in regulation time.
The two finalists will head-to-head in the final on Sunday, 23 October at New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.
The winner of the national playoffs will walk away with the prize money of R200 000, while the runners-up will get R100 000.
NWU Tawana will play against Lindelani in the 3rd/4th place playoffs and they will walk away with R60 000.
The showdown will be the curtain raiser match at 11h30 before the final game.

“We are very happy to have got a promotion. Some people had already written our obituary. But I believed that those girls are hard workers that’s why we managed to overcome everything here,” coach Karabo Selabe told journalists in Polokwane.
“The work is not over as yet because we have a final to play on Sunday so we can win the prize money.
“As I can check, I’m the youngest coach in this tournament. I can’t even express myself because I’m over the moon because of the excitement.”
