DStv Prem trio called-up for Chipolopolo’s Libya trip

Aljosa Asanovic has summoned three South Africa PSL-based players for Chipolopolo Zambia’s three-national friendly tournament in Libya.

Chipolopolo will spend September’s FIFA International Match Window in Benghazi for a friendly tournament against Mali and hosts Libya from September 21-27.

Asanovic has summoned the Sekhukhune United duo of goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata and midfielder Roderick Kabwe in his 27-member team unveiled on Monday.

AmaZulu’s new midfielder from Tanzanian club SC Simba Rally Bwalya is the other Premier Soccer League (PSL) player in Asanovic’s Chipolopolo team.

Asanovic has also named 12 European-based players in the team, including Leicester City striker Patson Daka and Brighton midfielder Enock Mwepu.

Striker Fashion Sakala of Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers is also in the team

But there is still no sign of defender Aime Mabika of USA MLS club Inter Miami whose naturalisation papers are still at Home Affairs.

Chipolopolo Zambia will kick off the Benghazi tournament against Libya on September 21 and play Mali on September 24.

This will be Chipolopolo’s first visit to Libya since 2010, when they met in a 2012 AFCON qualifier in Tripoli.

International football has returned to Libya after an eight-year armed conflict in the North African nation.
