Dylan Kerr signs Swallows contract after weeks of uncertainty
Dylan Kerr will remain at the helm of Swallows after finally signing his contract following weeks of uncertainty.
The Maltese-born mentor on Saturday tweeted that he was staying on as the club’s coach.
Dylan Kerr initially joined the Soweto side in what was meant to be a short-term deal halfway through the season. The Birds had been struggling under Brandon Truter, forcing management to engage the relegation specialist.
At the time, Maswaiswai were languishing at the basement of the table, having collected a mere eight points out of a possible 36.
Dylan Kerr led them to a 15th place finish before winning the Promotional Playoffs ahead of Cape Town Spurs and Tuks.
However, his contract came to an end after the curtain came down on their 2021/22 season. There was a lot of uncertainty over whether he would be retained for next season.
The Dube Birds have since handed the 55-year-old mentor an extension ahead of the 2022/23 season. They will, however, be expecting him to finish higher.
The club looks set to announce the developments in due course.
