Former Marumo coach Losciuto parts ways with Mozambique giants
Former Marumo Gallants assistant coach Jean-Francois Losciuto has explained his sudden departure from Mozambique giants Clube Ferroviario de Maputo.
Losciuto was appointed coach at the 18-time Mocambola Champions in January this year.
“Os Locomotivas” are one of the biggest teams in Mozambique and have made six appearances in the CAF Champions League.
LOSCIUTO ON MOZAMBIQUE STAY
“I only received my work permit last week, but I have been here since January, which was very difficult for me because I am alone in Mozambique. The other reason is the economic problems which we spoke about with the president of the team,” he said.
“The club was very good to me; they are a very big team. The highlight for me was the dominance we had against Costa da sol?? which is the second-biggest team in the country. We beat them 2-0 in the derby, and the next Wednesday, I beat them 2-0 in a cup. For me, it was a big moment.
ON THE NEXT MOVE
“Yes. My agent has received three offers. One from East Africa and one from Morocco, but we declined for various reasons. I love South Africa too much, and everybody knows that I have a good relationship with teams that side.”
“I am sure one day I will be back in South Africa. I have had contact with some of the teams in South Africa, but so far, nothing has materialised,” he said when asked if the offers were in South Africa.
The 50-year-old has had stints at Black Leopards, Richards Bay and Marumo Gallants. He was also the assistant coach of the Nigeria national team under Sunday Oliseh in 2015/16.
The Belgian has also had stints at Cano Sport (Equatorial Guinea) and Rayon Sports (Rwanda) as head coach.
