SuperSport United midfielder Grant Margeman has been one of the outstanding performers so far in the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

THE ABILITY TO SCORE GOALS
Besides grafting in the midfield, the Ajax Cape Town academy graduate has a knack for scoring all-important goals.
Just this week, Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi stressed that an attacking midfielder had to get their name on the scoresheet as well as assist.
While that is not synonymous with local midfielders, Magerman has averaged five goals every season since he broke into the scene.
THE VERSATILITY TO PLAY DIFFERENT POSITIONS
Every coach would want a player who presents them with options. The 24-year-old Magerman does as he is comfortable screening the defence in a typical central defensive midfield role as well as slotting in just behind the forward line.
LEADERSHIP QUALITIES
Margeman, who is on loan at SuperSport from Mamelodi Sundowns has resurrected the best form that he displayed with his boyhood club Ajax Cape Town and captained SA U/23 before moving to Sundowns.
After joining the star studded Sundowns team, Margeman found it tough to break into the Brazilians starting line-up and was sent out on loan to Swallows to get much needed game time.
The former youth international spent the last campaign with the Dobsonville-based side and amassed 28 appearances in all competitions while scoring once and making two assists.
He provided leadership and was instrumental when the going got tough as they fought tooth and nail to stay on in the PSL.
BEING ABLE TO USE BOTH FEET WITH EQUAL EASE
Interestingly, Margeman’s goals come from either foot.
The Cape Town-born midfielder proved his ability to score with both feet when he found the back of the net with his left foot against Kaizer Chiefs last month and scored a cracker of a winning goal against Royal AM recently at Lucas Moripe Stadium with his right.
The man is known for his ambidextrous ability. He has featured in eight games for Gavin Hunt’s troops this season.
