Marumo Gallants set to loan out trio to lower division side
Three Marumo Gallants players could find themselves moving to the lower division at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda Football Academy (VFA).
Striker Maboke Matlakala as well as midfielders Tebogo Thangwane and Brandon Mokgope are on the verge of joining National First Division outfit VFA on a loan deal.
The trio have struggled for game time under both Dan Malesela and former coach Romain Folz.
Gallants Media Liaison officer Rufus Matsena has confirmed to FARPost that the negotiations are underway for a possible move.
“So far there is no agreement in place. We were supposed to have a meeting on Tuesday but we couldn’t,” he said.
“But we are hoping this week ourselves and VFA will sit down and see how best we deal with this situation.
“At the moment it is just an issue of them being interested in our players so from our side we still have to engage.”
“So far no. At the moment we are in a situation where the World Cup gave us a mini-pre season where players will be looked at.”

Matsena also refuted claims that the club was in talks with midfielder Thabo Mnyamane for a possible return.
Mnyamane left the club at the end of the season following the expiration of his contract.
The 30-year-old is without a club and a possible return to the Limpopo club has been suggested. Mnyamane suffered an injury that has kept him out of action since his exit from the club.
“I am hearing it for the first time. If there was something like that I would have known but it’s not the case,” added Matsena.
Gallants are also preparing for the CAF Confederations Cup group stage where they will be making their debut.
They will find out their opponents when the Group stage draw takes place on Monday 12 December in Egypt.
