More departures at AmaZulu

AmaZulu have announced more departures, with Kamaal Saait and Johan Abselon leaving just a few days after Brandon Truter’s exit.

The duo served as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach respectively under the departed Truter at the KwaZulu-Natal side.

This comes after Usuthu appointed the ex-Marumo Gallants mentor Romain Folz last week.

Folz began his duties at AmaZulu on Monday as he prepares the team for their DStv Premiership encounter against Orlando Pirates.

Usuthu will take on the Soweto giants this coming Friday, 14 October at Orlando Stadium.

The kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.

In a statement, the club president Sandile Zunge said “We would like to thank coach, Kamaal Saait and Johan Abselon for their service to AmaZulu. All parties agreed to a mutual parting of ways in respect of the recent changes.”

“I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

As a result, Usuthu has brought in Musa Langa who will be the interim goalkeeper coach.

Langa previously served as the club’s reserve team and youth goalkeeper coach.

Meanwhile, the former Bafana Bafana frontman Siyabonga Nomvethe will remain at the club as the reserve team assistant coach to Siboniso Vilakazi.

Zungu believes that Nomvethe and Vilakazi will add value to the growth of AmaZulu in guiding the young ones in the youth ranks to the first team.

Currently, AmaZulu are sitting in the 9th spot with 11 points in nine games.

Upon the appointment of the Frenchman last week, the club president had promised Usuthu faithful that he will do everything to bring back the “glory days” at the club and challenge for some silverware.

ZUNGU’S PROMISE TO AMAZULU SUPPORTERS

“I repeat my promise to our fans that I will do everything in my power to bring back the glory days at AmaZulu,” said Zungu.

“We are championship material; there is no doubt about that. We can and will challenge for trophies, both domestically and continentally.

“As the oldest club in the DStv Premiership, Usuthu is a heritage of South African football, and therefore, we must self-correct expeditiously whenever we hit snags.”
