Mosimane jokingly warns Hunt about Chippa’s Mammila
In a masterly tweet, South Africa’s most successful coach Pitso Mosimane has hailed SuperSport’s Gavin Hunt for the fine run but jokingly warned him about Chippa’s Morgan Mammila.
Hunt’s SuperSport shot to the apex of the DStv Premiership table on Tuesday night after a 2-0 win over Stellenbosch.
Of course, whether they stay there or not is dependent on the Mamelodi Sundowns’ result on Wednesday night. Sundowns play Marumo Gallants at the Loftus Versfeld.
But it was Mosimane’s reference to the high-riding Mammila, whose switch from administration to coaching has been pleasantly swift.
While Hunt’s Matsatsantsa was climbing to pole position, the former CEO became the first PSL coach to win four successive matches this season.
That feat came just days after they defeated Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“I have said it before. Hurdles will always be there, you have faced them before, and you have the experience [PSL Champ 4 times] @gavinhunt12, pls be careful there is Grim Ripper on the loose in PE. His name starts with the letter M.🏃🏿,” tweeted Mosimane.
REACTIONS TO MOSIMANE TWEET
Tjatji Maponya was thrilled by how Mosimane has stayed in touch with the local game and continues to support his fellow South African coaches. “@TheRealPitso it’s so humbling to observe how you have always advocated and support SA Local coaches. Respect all round Sir,” he replied to the tweet.
Teko Mokaiwa said #MammilaBall added flavour to the 2022/23 season. “😂😂😂😂 Quite interesting season. Coach Morgan also brings extra flavour. We will see how it goes,” he wrote.
Tiyang Letsuisa was fascinated by the Grim Reaper reference. “Hehehe I like that but the Grim Reaper comes wearing black and white. Wait till you sail the ship 💥💥,” he wrote.
