The Premier Soccer League have released the official start dates as well as other important dates for the 2022/23 season.
The season is start to commence on the weekend of 5 August with DStv Premiership fixtures.
It will be followed by the MTN quarterfinal matches on 12 August.
“It has unfortunately become necessary to adjust the starting and certain other dates
for the 2022/23 professional football season for reasons beyond our control,” said the League in a communiqué to all member clubs on Wednesday.
- The season will kick off with the DStv Premiership on the weekend of 5th of August 2022.
- The MTN8 quarterfinals will take place on the weekend of the 12th of August 2022.
- The Motsepe Foundation Championship will commence on the weekend of the 2nd of September 2022.
- The last matches before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break will be held on the weekend of the 4th of November 2022.
- The date of release of players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the 14th of November 2022.
- The DStv Premiership will be concluded on the 20th of May 2023.
- The Nedbank Cup final will be held on the 27th of May 2023.
