Richards Bay outline FIFA break plan

Richards Bay are not resting on their laurels during the Fifa World Cup break, with high hopes of maintaining their momentum following an impressive start to life in the PSL.

The Natal Rich Boyz turned out to be the surprise package this season, as they sit pretty in second place in the 2022/23 campaign.

With an impressive 23 points from 13 games, they are five points behind defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Of all the teams, they have the best home record. They went into the break sitting on a sterling eight-game unbeaten run, with four wins and four draws.

RICHARDS BAY TO MONITOR PLAYERS

FARPost has it on good authority that the KZN outfit will be monitoring their players throughout the break to make sure players do not lose focus.

Insiders revealed that the club has a robust program to ensure players remain fit until the league resumes.

The club, however, maintain that its target is to ensure a top-eight finish. Team manager James Dlamini was reserved in his comments, but he confirmed that players were given a three-week break.

“We are coming back from the break on the 25th of November 2022 and start training on the 26th,” Dlamini told the FARPost.

“Coaches have proposed a mini-camp before our first match against Swallows FC on 31 December 2022. Other than that, nothing much.”

The club was set to make a big announcement on Tuesday, but it has been postponed due to the World Football Africa Summit, which will be hosted in Durban this week.
