Romain Folz provides positive AmaZulu injury update
AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz has provided a positive update on the injuries within his squad ahead of the resumption of the DStv Premiership season.
Folz has expressed his optimism of getting his players back to full fitness before the return to league action on the 30th of December.
AmaZulu have had an inconsistent start to the 2022/23 season and they have already fired Brandon Truter, who was at the helm at the start of the current campaign.
Usuthu also lost out on the opportunity to lift their first trophy in 30 years after suffering a slender 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban last month.
The 32-year old mentor, Folz has issued an update on the players likely to be ready when the KwaZulu-Natal side play against Sekhukhune United on Saturday, 31 December.
POSITIVE INJURY UPDATE
“Everything is going up to the plan and I’m happy with the work ethic,” said Folz.
“I’m happy with the commitment shown by the guys during the break and it’s the only positive now and we want keep it that way.
“We had few injuries to monitor and Bonginkosi Ntuli is one of them but he’s slowly coming and starting to train a little bit.
“So we have to be cautious and smart with how we deal with players coming back from injury.
“For example with [George] Maluleka, he was part of the two training sessions since coming back from injury.
“Siphesihle Maduna has participated in the training matches we played on Monday.
“Everyone is coming back, is just a matter of time before the team is injury free and everyone back is to full fitness,” Folz added.
AmaZulu have won four games, drew five and lost five times in 13 games played so far in the league. They are in seventh place on the Premiership table.
