Sekhukhune coach explains Chibuike Ohizu absence
Sekhukhune United head coach Kaitano Tembo has explained why the talented striker Chibuike Ohizu has been absent from the team.
The Nigerian frontman is yet to feature in any game for Babina Noko this season due to an injury he sustained at training.
Ohizu had an incredible run last campaign, having found the back of the net on nine occasions from 27 matches across all competitions for the Limpopo side.
The 26-year-old joined Sekhukhune on loan in the 2020/21 season from Jomo Comos while they were still competing in the South African football second-tier.
He later signed for the side permanently after they won the Gladafrica Championship [now known as Motsepe Foundation Championship] the very same term.
TEMBO ON OHIZU
“Ohizu had suffered an injury,” Tembo told the media after their 2-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Tuesday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“But he is now been cleared and he also got his work permit.
“He got injured at training, that is why he has been not part of the squad.”
The Onitsha-born also represented the likes of Inter FC Enugu in his home soil before being recruited by Abayomi Adebayo to join the Future of Africa Academy back in 2015.
The following year, he found himself in the books of Gauteng ABC Motsepe League Outfit Leruma United, where he played for a season before joining Cosmos in 2018 after he caught the attention of Ezenkosi boss in a friendly match against them.
Tembo believes that the talented forward will come back even stronger, as the player is still part of his plans moving forward.
