Sekhukhune United complete the signing of Given Mashikinya

Sekhukhune United have announced the signing of midfielder Given Mashikinya from Maritzburg United.

As it was reported by FARPost on Tuesday, Mashikinya together with Tshidiso Monamodi were deemed surplus to requirements at the Team of Choice.

This is after the club announced the return of coach Fadlu Davids with more players reportedly set to be shown the exit door if they fail to impress the former Orlando Pirates coach during the FIFA World Cup break in Qatar.

“Mashikinya (31), joins Babina Noko after last having played for Maritzburg United FC,” Sekhukhune said in a statement on Wednesday.

“A model professional who plays both central midfield and right back.”

“It was supposed to happen earlier on but based on circumstances it had to happen now. I am happy to be here, I can see where the team is in terms of the position on the log. So I am planning to come here and give my 100% and help the guys with the little bit of experience I have,” he added.

“Hopefully as quickly as possible leave the relegation zone and go to top eight. I know for a fact that we have a quality team and we can do our best and end up in a better position in the log.”

“To supporters, I would like to edge you guys to always be behind us. We will always be behind you with performances. We can’t make a lot of promises to you guys but all we can do is to give 100.”
