Siyabulela Shai gunning for maximum points against Stellies

Sekhukhune United attacking midfielder Siyabulela Shai says his side wants nothing but maximum points from Babina Noko’s home game against Stellenbosch FC on Saturday.

The Limpopo club will welcome Stellies in the DStv Premiership clash at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium with the kick-off set for 17:30 in the evening.

Sekhukhune has no room for error if they really want to move from the bottom of the log standings and will count on its home ground advantage to climb up the table.

Since the start of the season, the club has managed to collect six points, having won one game, drew three and lost three in the process.

SHAI SPEAKS…

“Due to the past games, we have not been collecting points. But the coaches have motivated us and gave us positive feedback on how to go on forward,” Shai told the club’s media.

“We are now doing that [what the coaches told them] in our training sessions and we will definitely improve.”

Shai went on to express his gratitude to the club’s fans for their loyal support even though results are not coming in as they would have anticipated.

“We would also like to thank our supporters for always being there for us through thick and thin.

“At this moment, we want to promise them that we will do our best to get maximum points against Stellenbosch,” he added.

Meanwhile, speaking in the post-match interview with the club’s media officer after their goalless draw with Cape Town City, the club head coach Kaitano Tembo stated that he was happy with Sekhukhune’s display but left disappointed with his team’s finishing.

The ex-SuperSport United mentor further said that he felt like his side had dominated the majority of the showdown and they intend to build on their performance moving forward.

“You know, our problems are in terms of converting the chances that we have been creating,” said Tembo.

“But in terms of the performance, I think we have been playing well. And today I was quite happy, most importantly that we managed to keep a clean sheet which was very good.”
