Stellies welcome back starlet from Belgium trials ahead of DDC final showdown

Stellenbosch FC have received a major boost ahead of their DStv Diski Challenge last game of the season as the club’s top scorer Fuad Johnson has returned from his trials in Belgium.

The 20-year-old has been instrumental for the Capetonians this campaign, netting 11 goals. This superb form caught the eye of Royal Antwerp, therefore, he was invited for a two-week trials.

“He [Johnson] also arrived, he will be available for the final match and we are confident he will contribute in a positive way,” coach Evangelos Vellios revealed.

“Fuad understands that he had to work hard to get in the travelling squad. He will have to show that at training because the other players have also done exceptionally well in his absence.”

Stellenbosch will face tricky TS Galaxy at Tsakane Stadium on Saturday, only needing a point to secure the league title.

Vellios’ charges occupy the summit of the log with 61 points, twos points ahead of second-placed SuperSport United.
