Sundowns’ Champions League group stage dates revealed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the dates for the CAF Champions League group stage fixtures.

South Africa’s representatives in the competition, Mamelodi Sundowns, have discovered when they will square off with their Group B opponents.

The Brazilians were drawn alongside Al Hilal (Sudan), Coton Sport (Cameroon) and Al Ahly (Egypt).

This will be the second successive season in which Bafana Ba Style face Al Hilal and Al Ahly in the group stages after they were in the same group in the last campaign.

Meanwhile, it will mark the fifth consecutive season in which the Pretora-based club meets the Club of the Century in the Champions League.

The two teams faced off in the quarterfinals in 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21 editions and met in the group stages in the previous campaign.
