Sundowns dominate 2022 Super League awards nominees
The reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies dominate the list of the 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League Awards nominees.
This comes after the South African Football Association [SAFA] announced the nominees for the just-ended Super League campaign.
The stand-out players, who have excelled and given their all this season will be honoured.
The awards ceremony is set to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday, 3 December 2022.
Masandawana were crowned the champions after crashing Richmond United 4-2 at home over the weekend.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LADIES’ DOMINATION
Jerry Tshabalala’s charges totally dominated the women’s league from the start till the end with the best records, having finished the season on 82 points from 30 outings.
In fact, Sundowns sealed the Super League title with four games to spare before heading to Morocco for the CAF Women’s Champions League, where they finished as runners-up.
The Tshwane club also reached the 100-goal mark, banging a whopping 126 goals and only conceded 13 times in the process. The red-hot Brazilians boasted a massive +113 goal difference
This was Sundowns’ third consecutive league title, having won it for the first time back in 2019.
