SuperSport United’s Boalefa Pule names three countries are likely to win World Cup

SuperSport United goalkeeper Boalefa Pule has named the countries that he believes will win the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to be held in Qatar.

The eagerly-awaited prestigious tournament will start from Sunday, 20 November until Sunday, 18 December 2022.

Pule’s favourites three countries to be crowned the world champions are Brazil, France and Argentina.

The Matsatsantsa shot-stopper reckons that the three nations have coaches that have an excellent philosophy, players with intent and also capable enough to change for the title.

“For me, I think Brazil, France and Argentina have the edge with the best squads they have,” Pule told the Tshwane-based outfit’s media.

However, the goal-minder went on to say that there are other nations that can pull a shocker to many people at the World Cup tournament.

“There are also good teams with a lot of potentials to pull big surprises. So for me, I think it will be a tight one but good for football people,” he added.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old goalie also touched on the issue of South Africa having failed to qualify for the World Cup since 2010, where they were the hosts.

“I think it is always going to be painful for us not being there as a nation, but we hope and pray for the upcoming generation of players would fulfil their potential and try to compete with the best on the bigger platform,” Pule explained

The Zeerust-born footballer further divulged how he will spend his time during the World Cup break.

“This is going to be the longest football break ever!

“I have tried to spend a lot of my time with family and also went back home to check on my mother and the rest of the family.

“It’s a bit weird being off at this time in our football calendar as well, but we have tried to spend time together [as a family] before we resume training.”

HOW PULE MAINTAINS HIS FITNESS LEVEL…

“Personally I have been trying to work on my physical weaknesses that I have identified together with our trainers and also try to reflect a lot on my contribution to the team’s success so far.

“I definitely think I can improve a lot going into the second round of the league,” he stated.
